WJHS Talent Showcase

Kolby Hawkins

Ms. Slaton, choir and talent show director, did a fantastic job this year bringing a variety of performances and ending with her own amazing show choir. “Our school is so talented and there are not enough venues to show how talented our school is,” she comments after the talent show on Thursday, March 14, 2013. Emma Huezl, 3rd place, danced with such passion that I had tears in my eyes as she finished. Jordan Jackson and his band came in second sounding exactly like one of my favorite bands, Never Shout Never. The winners, Jed Chew and Young Koh, were amazing with their Piano Duel. My personal favorite was the skit by Mr. Cox and Ms. Landon. I’d never laughed so hard as when my English teacher went gangster and rapped for us. And I was shocked when Ms. Landon definitely brought down the house with a voice I never knew she had. And to end it all with a “Harlem Shake” hosted by Robby Irgang! I will definitely be attending next year’s talent show to see what other hidden talents West has in store for us.
