Irgangnam Style: Looking in the Mirror

For my final Irgangnam style, I’m going to take a look at my own style. Well now that I think about it, there’s not much to my style really: I put on a shirt and some shorts then pick out the snazziest pair of socks in my drawer. A lot of the times I don’t think about what I’m wearing, but I also don’t feel the need to. If you are comfortable in what you’re wearing then you’re wearing the right thing anyway. People have always criticized what I wear, but I feel very comfortable in it, so why should I or anyone care about it? Honestly I’ve been rocking a mohawk for longer than anybody wants to see it and because I like it, it stays. Don’t let others change who you are or how you dress. Ciao!

Irgangnam Style: Ink and Hair

The resident fashion expert is back with some new and exciting fashion tips. This month’s issue is about facial hair and tattoos. I personally will be rocking one of those for the rest of my life, but not both. So I choose facial hair; the goatee, “or attempt of one” is my favorite look. Other options for facial hair that I think are stylish are the mustache, full beard, and the shadow. It takes a lot of class to pull off those styles but with the right person, it can be achieved. I personally won’t be getting tattoos, but some ideas are very cool. There are a lot of different places to get a tat, but just remember it’s lifelong so keep it small and you won’t worry about regretting it too much.

Irgangnam Style: Prom Edition

When I think of prom, I think of long flowing dresses for girls and three-piece suits for guys. However, as I was looking through a recent prom catalog, that’s not what I found at all. The way that you can really personalize your prom wear was interesting and slightly entertaining. The “cowboy,” “mod” and “usual” just to name a few were so varied that you could have your own style in each section. I personally will be wearing a normal suit and keeping it classy. To be honest, guys just go along with what your date likes and it will be more enjoyable for both of you. To the ladies, don’t get too demanding. It isn’t cute. All in all prom is a once or twice in a lifetime experience so just make it enjoyable. Ciao!

Since it’s the beginning of March, we can now talk about the new spring fashion trends. I definitely think that because it is spring bright and vibrant colors are a must. I’m thinking bold yellows, vibrant greens, and maybe a little neon orange is appropriate. Of course, my style isn’t necessarily the best but it will definitely get you noticed.  It’s also time to put the big winter jackets up and bring out the light wind breakers or rain jackets for a while. Also, for those who can deal with a little cold you can wear shorts and a t-shirt. It all comes down to if you’re not comfortable than you won’t be happy and if you’re not happy it doesn’t matter what you look like.

This month our topic is cars. The style of your car could be a big difference maker in your “swag.” I personally think your car should be comfortable and personalized. I choose to go with the mini van, decorated in some bumper stickers, with leopard print seat covers. I know what your thinking, Not the manliest design, but like I said its all about the comfortability. Honestly, guys and gals just keep it your hot wheel clean. If you can keep the inside and outside of your car clean, your in business. Keeping the ride smelling good is also a big deal. If it smells like a small animal died in your car, that’s no bueno. Long story short, if you have a car keep it nice and keep it classy. Ciao.

December Irgangnam Style Update

I have never been described as stylish so at first glance you may read this and wonder, “How is Robby Irgang writing a fashion report?” Well, to be honest, I’ll be asking a lot of the readers for help. However, for this first issue I thought I should make it a little gender specific. For the guys, it’s winter time and so as you roll out of bed, I expect to see nothing but some comfortable sweats and a t-shirt. This is the time of the year when some guys try to get fancy, especially when we come back from break. You can stay warm and comfortable while still being fashionable. Tanner Richards, a Junior, believes a little differently:

“A long sleeve t-shirt, some khakis or jeans, and a loafer-type shoe like Sperry’s.” is what he thinks is in this season.

Now for the ladies: This one is tricky for me, but I have been able to ask for some opinions and can’t wait to hear more. West Senior Devyn Lane has told me: 

“Small polka dots are becoming very popular” along with “peplum shirts, lace and the color emerald.”

Always remember the golden rule: Keep it simple and you can’t go wrong. I’m hoping that I help West High dress stylishly year round. Chao!
